16:00 - 17:30
The Faculty have organised a Faculty Forum Webinar which will be presented to you by the video-conferencing app called ZOOM on Tuesday 1st December 2020 at 4.00 p.m. until 5.30 p.m.
Ken Power will be delivering the subject on:
Welter v McKeeve – An Excellent Learning Experience
Welter v McKeeve caused a furor when Judgment was handed down leading to much criticism of one of the surveyors involved. But, all is not quite what it seems at first glance. Ken has conducted an in depth review of the case and spoken at length with the surveyor involved who has generously shared his knowledge of the case as well as being very open about his own performance. This culminated in this presentation as regards what can really be learnt from this case.
Ken is an experienced Chartered and Party Wall Surveyor, Chairman of the FPWS and is responsible for the Forums. Part of his role for the Faculty is as a trainer for the 2 day and Third Surveyor courses. Ken has been in construction all his working life, starting on the tools and working his way up to running several construction companies both small and large. Ken runs a very successful Charted Surveying practice concentrating on commercial processes, dispute resolution and neighbourly matters including party wall matters and boundary disputes. Ken is a practical and pragmatic person, very solutions oriented and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his work.
