The Faculty has organised a Forum Webinar which will be presented to you by the video-conferencing app called ZOOM on Wednesday 22nd September 2021 at 4.30 p.m. until 6.00 p.m.
Amanda Gourlay (Barrister) will be delivering the subject on:
• Party Wall Surveyors – What do you need to know about leases.
• Are you serving on the right adjoining owners?
• Do the leaseholders have an interest in the notifiable works?
• Are they owners or occupiers?
Amanda is a barrister of fifteen years’ experience. She is an Associate member of Tanfield Chambers. She focuses almost entirely on residential landlord and tenant disputes, including issues of disrepair and service charges. She has been described as having ‘an encyclopaedic knowledge of leasehold issues’, being ‘very practical and commercially minded’. She has experience of courts and tribunals at all levels between the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) and the Court of Appeal.
In early 2021, she launched an online social responsibility project, #LawUnleashed. The project is a series of webinars on residential leasehold matters, for which she donates 80% of the proceeds to homelessness and mental health charities. Her aim in all of her talks is to speak directly, simply and authoritatively to her subject.
Away from the law, Amanda is a keen horserider, cyclist, gardener and sometime runner.
