The Faculty has organised a Forum Webinar which will be presented to you by ZOOM on Wednesday 5th June 2024 at 4.00 p.m. until 6.00 p.m.

Alex Frame (President), Daniel Ross (Director) and Stephen Cornish (Director) will be delivering on the following:

On the 14th of September 2023, we were fortunate to have HHJ Parfitt, currently a Judge in charge of the TCC list at Central London, provide his thoughts on the following hot topics:

  • Can adjoining owners dissent at any time, even after they have initially consented to a notice?
  • Do surveyors have jurisdiction to award inspections after the service of an award?

Join Alex Frame, Daniel Ross & Stephen Cornish for a recap and discussion on these topics.

Alex Frame is currently the president of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors and is the remaining founder member from the four that set up the Faculty. He has his own surveying and design practice but spends much time teaching at seminars on party wall and boundary matters as well as writing books having recently vastly updated the Misunderstandings & Guidance book, produced the long awaited second edition of the Third Surveyor book and new books on BoundariesA History of Party Walls  and Walls of History. He has also been instrumental in writing the seventh edition of the RICS guidance on party wall matters, and is also a member of RICS party wall and boundary panel. Conscious that mediation offers distinct advantages over litigation, Alex Frame joined forces with HH Edward Bailey and the P&T to set up the Party Wall Mediation Scheme LLP for the benefit of building and adjoining owners utilising the specialist skills and knowledge of party wall surveyors and lawyers practising in this field. He has been undertaking party wall matters for very many years and is well experienced as a third surveyor.

Daniel Ross is the Director of Consul Chartered Surveyors and South London Party Wall Surveyors; Daniels day to day work consists of Party Wall Matters, Dilapidations, Principal Designer Duties, Planning Applications and general Contract Administration namely on frameworks contacts for local authorities and housing associations. Daniel is also a Fellow and a Director of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors; he is on the interview panel but predominantly conducts educational seminars for the Faculty as well as organising the Forums across England and Wales in his role as Forum Director.

Stephen Cornish is a well known and respected Chartered Surveyor throughout Middlesex, North West London and Central London, Steve (Cornish) and Stephen (Woodward) have worked together since the late 1980’s.  Steve is to be found in either the Mayfair or Rickmansworth office well before the sun, and most surveyors, are out of bed and has an insatiable passion for architecture and its history.  He has a Doctorate in building history, a subject that finds him lecturing at Birkbeck College University of London. Steve is a Fellow of the RICS, a Fellow and Director of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors and member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Society for party wall surveyors.  He lectures on Party Wall maters and is a widely consulted  “Third Surveyor”  settling Party Wall disputes between Party Wall surveyors.
