The Faculty has organised a Forum Webinar which will be presented to you by ZOOM on Monday 6th October 2025 at 4.00 p.m. until 5.30 p.m.

Dragging the Act into the 21st century 

Stephen Cornish & Alex Frame’s aim is to encourage further debate on a manifesto to drag the Act into the 21st century.  

There is no doubt that the Act is full of unnecessary language, inconsistencies, misconceptions, and plain errors, many of which have been taken uncritically from the 1939 (Amendment) Act. What were considered to be innovative  provisions introduced into the current Act have, in some cases, turned out  to be misguided. You are welcome to join Stephen Cornish and Alex Frame who will discuss these difficulties and put forward the proposition: there is no substitute for hard thought and radical surgery, without which recourse to the courts will continue.

1.5 Hours CPD

CPD certificates will be issued after the event. Please be aware that if you do not join within the first 30 minutes, you will not receive a CPD certificate. We cannot be responsible for anyone that does not attend the zoom meeting and please note that we will not provide video recordings of events that are missed.
