Expired Two Day Party Wall Training Course – 15th & 16th January 2025 (virtual)

This course will be delivered by a video conferencing programme called ZOOM which means that you will need to have the following available in order to access this seminar:

Our education and training is second to none.  Having been in existence since 2001 we have established ourselves and are long recognised as the body for teaching in all matters relating to the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.  The Faculty is a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation born out of a need for education and support for building surveyors and other construction professionals.

Who is it for?
This two day training course covers the whole of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.  It is designed for Surveyors, Architects, Engineers and all those that have a responsibility for, and associated with, construction works.  Completion of this party wall training course means you will be eligible to apply for membership of the Faculty, subject to attending and passing an  interview. A prerequisite is that you have a construction knowledge for joining.

Outcomes & Benefits
Our rules of entry require that even if someone is experienced in party wall matters they are required to attend this party wall training course should they wish to become a member of the Faculty. This will be in accordance with our teaching on the subject, and ensures good knowledge and a better understanding of what is expected of someone that becomes a member and ensures they are a very good party wall surveyor.

Delivery
The party wall training course is structured and presented by subject experts in a professional and friendly manner for which interaction and questions are encouraged.  The presentation is provided in a hard copy form in that copious notes can be taken. A paper exercise is undertaken in the afternoon of the second day to help to put into practise as to what you have been taught.

 What is included

Course Fees:
The cost is £835 (nil VAT) which includes the two-day training course and an interview for membership.

On completion of Training Course
To become a member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors contact the Administration Department to arrange an interview that is included as part of the course fee.  The Administration Department will then send you a set of plans and instructions for you to produce the following documents to support your application:

• • Two awards – one where you are the agreed surveyor and one where you are one of two surveyors
  • Corresponding letters of appointment
  • A Notice on behalf of the Building Owner
  • A letter to the Appointing Owners advising them of the name of the Third Surveyor that has been selected
  • A copy of the covering letter when serving the award

Offer of Membership
When you successfully pass the interview, you will be required to pay an annual subscription fee of £195 with subscriptions due on the 1^st of July annually.  Your first invoice will include your membership subscription charged on a pro-rata basis.  The invoice will also include the cost for the handbook, which is an obligatory one-off purchase of £45.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

1) Once payment has been made the delegate accepts these terms and conditions.
2) The Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors (FPWS) reserves the right to cancel up to 48 hours prior to the date of the course and will offer either a full refund or an alternative event and/or dates.
3) Delegates will be entitled to a refund of 50% if cancellations are received in writing up to 14 days prior to the course date.
4) Delegates will not be entitled to any refund if (a) they cancel within 14 days; or (b) they fail to arrive on the day.
5) FPWS will not guarantee a place unless payment is made in full at the time of booking.
6) This booking is not transferable for any reason unless expressly agreed in writing with FPWS.
