WALLS OF HISTORY In England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales

Very often there is little left to see of these fortified walls and castles today, but I have researched what I could, and much of the information in this book gives details about how the walls and castles came about rather than the exact construction of them, albeit I have attempted to cover that aspect as well.

Boundary Disputes (A Guide for Surveyors)

There have been quite a few books written on the subject of boundaries from different angles and points of view, but unfortunately because there are no codified laws or Acts of Parliament on the subject, we have to work with the information at hand to resolve the disputes of today.

A History of Party Walls (700 BC to 1996 AD)

Walls are built for various reasons, and research shows that containment is the priority, whether that be for security, such as Hadrian’s Wall, or physical protection, such as fire protection in the Great Fire of London.
It therefore comes as no surprise that the construction of such walls is important if they are to have their desired effects. Surprisingly, these effects are related to living conditions and, as such, we see public health at the forefront, rather than pure building construction.

CPD Study Course book

This CPD Study Course book is particularly useful for the beginner in party wall surveying or for those who need to quickly accumulate CPD hours but is not to be seen as a replacement for attending CPD events.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development and is aimed at expanding the knowledge of the participant, whilst satisfying their professional body’s requirements.  Once you have returned the completed questions in Part 11, the Faculty will issue the CPD certificate.

This CPD Study Course book will provide 7 hours of CPD.  After which, if not already a full member of the Faculty, the candidate will have the added bonus of making an application for full membership into the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors, subject to the submission of two party wall awards, followed by an interview.
